Airport Split is located in district Resnik, west of Kastel Stafilic, 25 km far from city of Split and 6 km far from town Trogir. Exact address of the Airport Split is Cesta dr. Franje Tudmana 96, 21120 Kastela. Kastela are group of seven settlements built around castles in Kastela's Bay over the centuries.

Airport Split is located on 25m altitude. It is situated accross the island Ciovo. You can get to Airport Split by buses from Split and Trogir. You can also use water taxi or rent a boat for excursions or cruising and water activities.

SPLIT AIRPORT HISTORY

Airport Split was opened on 25th November 1966. Number of passengers grew till 1988. crisis in Former Republic of Yugoslavia. Airport Split was closed in 1991. because of the war and in April of 1992. it was opened again.

It had mostly military airplanes and passengers. Increase of tourist passengers started after 2000. In 2006. Airport Split gained millionth passenger. Because of the growth of activity in Airport Split, there were plans to expand the area of the airport.
