Cathedral of St. Mark was built in Gothic and Renaissance style by Italian and domestic builders. Marko Andrijic built upper part of bell-tower and ciborium above main altar. Main portal was built by Italian Bonino. Cathedral is located on main square in old town. It has been built through 14th and 15th century.
Abbot's treasury is located within Cathedral of St. Marko in old bishop’s castle. Treasury was founded in 1954. Most famous work is painting The Virgin with Child and Saints painted by Blaz Jurjev Trogiranin in 1431.
Town Museum Korcula is situated in palace Gabrijelis which was built in 15th and 16th century. It is located in old town center. In the museum you can see collections which testify Korcula's history and culture.
The Church and the Brotherhood of All Saints. The church was built in 15th century on remains of old church from 13th century in which was founded Brotherhood of All Saints in 1301.
Glavica of St. Anthony is religious monument located half an hour of walk from town center. It is located on a hill which you can reach with 102 stairs. Within the stairs is cypress alley planted in 1708.
Maximilijan Vanka was born in Zagreb in 1889. He was a painter who established artists' colony on island Korcula.
House of Marko Polo is located in old town center. Marko Polo was traveller and explorer who lived from 1254. until 1324. In 1298. near Korcula was battle between Venice and Genoa in which Genoa imprisoned Marko Polo. In prison Marko Polo talked about his trips to China to scrivener Rustichelio.
Tower Large Revelin is land gates built in 1485. In 1572. within the tower arsenal was built. There are two symbols above the gates. One is board with a winged lion of St. Mark and other is memorial board of 1000. anniversary of coronation of first Croatian king Tomislav.
Small island Badija is located in Peljesac canal. Island Badija is covered with maquis and pine forest. Church and monastery on island Badija were built in 1420.

Island Korcula has been inhabited since Prehistory.
Town Korcula was called Korkyra Melania by Greeks and Corcyra Nigra by Romans.
In 13th century Korcula has town statute which regulated life during Middle Ages.
Old town Korcula is shaped like fish bone. Most beautiful buildings and houses in Korcula were built in 15th and 16th century. In old town many houses and palaces have coat of arms of noble families.
During the past Korcula's inhabitants were directed mostly to ship building and stone masonry.
Town Korcula was first time mentioned in 10th century, but it is not known when it was for sure founded. In 9th century Croats inhabited town and called it Karkar or Krkar.
Venice first time ruled in Korcula in 1001. and later again in 1256. Most known person from Korcula was Marco Polo in 13th century. In 1298. Venice and Genoa led a battle near Korcula and Marko Polo, who was on Venetian side, was imprisoned.
In 14th century Korcula was shortly under the rule of Austrian-Hungarian kings and in 1420. again under Venetians. Venetians ruled here until 1797.

At the end of 15th century Genoa and Naples led the battle near Korcula and it suffered a lot of damage.
In 1571. Turks attacked town Korcula but inhabitants managed to defend their town.
