Prigradica is a charming little fishing settlement situated on the north-west coast of the island of Korcula some 4 km away from Blato, 12 km from Vela Luka, and 36 km from the town of Korcula. It is a place surrounded by hundred year old vineyards and olive groves. The bay of Prigradica is one of the first inhabited bays on Korcula and has been founded as a harbor for the export of wine and olive oil from nearby settlement of Blato.
Prigradica has managed to preserve the authentic Mediterranean and rustic environment of the past times which can be seen in many of the ancient stone houses located here.
Nowadays Prigradica has been transformed into a tourist place for a quiet vacation. Its bay is dominated by a large waterfront with a mole constructed during the Austria-Hungarian reign.
In Prigradica accommodation can be found in private houses and apartments.
Some of the sports facilities include soccer fields, basketball, and sand volleyball.
The beaches of Prigradica are rocky and pebbly.

Prigradica is a small harbor of lying on the north part of the island of Korcula, belonging to the Blato Municipality and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
The island Korcula can be reached by ferry from Split, Drvenik and Orebic. It is a 3 hour journey from Split to Korcula, 2 and a half hour journey from Drvenik and from Orebic it takes only 15 minutes.
It is advisable to stand in the line for ferry two hours prior to departure if you wish to avoid crowds.
The nearest airport is located in Dubrovnik.
The island of Korcula has a pleasant Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature here is 16.8°C i. The coldest month of the year is January with an average temperature of 9.1°C, whereas July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 26.9°C.
Over 2700 sunny hours per year make Korcula one of the sunniest islands of the Adriatic.

Prigradica (island Korcula) - History
The findings from the Stone Age discovered in Vela Spila near Vela Luka indicate that the island of Korcula has been inhabited since the ancient times. In the 4th century BC the Greeks established their colony on Korcula and because of its lush and thick vegetation they named it Korkyra Melania or Black Korcula and during the Roman rule it was called Korkyra Nigra.
