Soline was named after salt which was collected when sea evaporated in natural pools on the coast.

Benedictines lived here and they made passage between sea and Large lake. They built a monastery on small island of St. Mary inside the Large lake.

In canal Soline Benedictines built stone cross and a mill.

First family who inhabited Soline was Srsen in 1825.
