Drvenik is consisted of two villages Gornja and Donja Vala. Gornja Vala is on south side and Donja Vala on north side.
Drvenik is located on main Adriatic road which connects Split and Dubrovnik. So if you come to Split with train you can use private car transfers or boat rentals to get to Drvenik. From airport Split you can use car rentals or private boat transfers directly.
Drvenik has ferry port which connects it with settlement Sucuraj on island Hvar. During summer months Drvenik is also connected with island Korcula with ferry line.
Climate in Drvenik is Mediterranean. It has hot and dry summers and mild winters. During winter months most often wind is bura. Snow is very rare.

Drvenik Split - History
Drvenik was first time mentioned in 13th century.
Drvenik was named after word „drvo“ which means wood.
North of settlement can be seen ruins of tower and walls from 17th century.
In 1962. after the earthquake inhabitants of Gornji Drvenik moved into two bays on the coast, Donja and Gornja Vala.
