Island of Life has surface of 0,011 km2. It is located in Mali Ston bay and surrounded with shellfish nurseries. Island of Life is administrative part of town Ston and has no inhabitants. On island there are 11 buildings. Island of Life was owned by family Bandur from Hodilje until 1935. when it was bought by Bozo Banac, one of the richest people in Dubrovnik area. On island were warehouses for steamers. Bozo Banac built a castle on islands. After World War II island became owned by town Ston.
Town Ston is most known for production of salt and stone wal, which is world's second longest wall. Walls were built in 14th century.
Town Orebic is located 60 km north-west of Hodilje. There is a ferry port which connects peninsula Peljesac with island Korcula and other destinations. You can go on group or private car excursions to settlements on peninsula Peljesac.
Town Dubrovnik is known for beautiful stone walls which surround the town, but also many historical monuments, beautiful streets and buildings.
City Split is famous for Diocletian's palace, ULTRA Festival, hill Marjan, water sports, gorgeous beaches and rich gastronomy. You can get to Split with group or private boat excursions from Hodilje and spend a day there.
