Red Lake is karst pit filled with water. Red lake is 287 m deep. It is believed it is the deepest lake in Europe. Red lake is named after red rocks which surround it.
Blue Lake is famous bathing area for inhabitants during summer. Sometimes lake is totally dry and then inhabitants play football in it.
Fort Topana was built in 10th century. It has beautiful town and Blue lake view and it is famous for visiting. Within the fort is church of Lady of Angels. There are 82 stairs leading from fort to central town square with monument to poet Tin Ujevic.
Vrlika is a river passing through Imotski field and it is protected as ichthyological reserve.
Basilica in Zmijavci is consisted of ruins of basilica from 5th and 6th century.

Imotski - History
Imotski was first time mentioned in 950. in De administrando imperio by Constantine Porphyrogenitus as Emota.
Area of Imotski is one of the oldest Croatian regions. It has been inhabited since Neolithic. You can see the remains in Zagvozd and Grabovas localities.
Turks ruled in Imotski for 224 years.
Area of Imotski changed many rulers, from Byzantine, noblemen Bribirski and Nelipcic, Ottomans, Venetians, Austria, France.
In 1918. Imotski became part of Kingdom SHS which later became Yugoslavia.
