Kastel Stafilic is one of the seven Dalmatian settlements that form the city of Kastela. There are seven Kastelas and all of them are located along the coast of the Kastela bay.

The Kastel (fort) in Stafilic also known as the tower Rotondo was constructed in 1508 by a nobleman Stjepan Stafileo from Trogir on a small sea reef. The tower is connected to the mainland by a drawbridge.
In the center there is also a parish church dating from the 18th century made in Renaissance and Baroque style.
Fort Nehaj is located by the seaside. It is small and uncompleted fort but nevertheless it is a great sight. The two nobles from Trogir, brothers Ludovik and Ivan Lodi started building it in 1548.
In Kastel Stafilic can be seen an old olive tree estimated to be about 1500 years old. It belongs to the species of olive tree that is not common in this area. It was most probably brought here from Italy or Greece. It is a protected natural monument.
Guests can visit a gorgeous botanical garden in the nearby Kastel Luksic that was made in 1976 covering an area of 4 hectares. Various domestic and exotic plant species can be seen here.
The Nature Reserve Pantan is located not far from Trogir. This is a part of once a very large swamp area. This large swamp started diminishing in size because of the various geological processes and urbanization through the centuries but nonetheless it is still a very valuable and typical sample of a swamp on the east Adriatic coast where the salt and fresh water mix. Numerous bird species use this swamp as their resort on their migrating paths. The old mill in Pantan was renovated a couple of years ago and is now a tourist attraction.
The ancient town of Salona was built in the 4th century BC. It was greatly influenced by the Greek colonies. It started developing very quickly with the arrival of the Romans in the 1st century and became a very significant harbor, and a political, merchant and military center. The town Solin had a great role in the Croatian history and many Croatian kings were crowned here.
Split is the capital city of Dalmatia protected by UNESCO. It is located 23km from Kastel Stafilic and some of the major tourist sights here are:

Kastel Stafilic - History
Kastela was desirable location for living since ancient times because of the favorable climate and the abundance of fresh water here.
The traces of the Neanderthals were found in Mujina cave located on the passage between The Kastela field and Labin.
In Resnik in Kastel Stafilic more than 5000 years old Neolithic findings were found.
This region came under the Byzantine rule after the fall of the West Roman Empire. The Avars and the Slavs started invading this region at the beginning of the 7th century, which was followed by the fall of Salona. The romanticized Illyrians retreated to the hills and the Romans took shelter in the nearby surrounding towns.
In the 7th century the Croatians started inhabiting the abandoned areas outside of the city walls.
