Church of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1733. Inside the church is Pieta painted by Felix Tironi, painter from Supetar, in 1783.

Mirca was named after Latin word murus which means wall. In Middle Ages it was called Mirac which means small wall.

Mirca was founded in 1579. First parts of settlement were founded in inland of island to be protected from pirates.

In 1825. Mirca is divided from Sutivan and became a parish. Church was dedicated to Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1841. Bell-tower was built in 1858.
