Pasadur (island Lastovo) - History
The island of Lastovo has been first mentioned during the 14th century BC by the names of Ladesta or Ladeston.
The archaeological findings dating from the Stone Age (8500.BC), indicating human inhabitance since the ancient history, were discovered in the Raca cave. Lastovo has been inhabited by the Illyrians but has also been on the sea route of the Greek sailors which is indicated by the archaeological findings of Greek ceramics.
The Romans had their headquarters in Ubli but settled in Lastovo after conquering the provinces in Dalmatia. The so called 'villae rusticae' (Latin for village villas which were their summer houses) and water-drawing constructions known as 'lokve' (Croatian word for puddle) are just some of the traces they left of their presence.
