Postira has around 1500 inhabitants. Inhabitants are mostly directed to tourism and fishing. Municipality Postira is consisted of two settlements: Postira and Dol.
Tourism started to develop in Postira in 1934. when first tourists came from Germany and Czech Republic. Tourism is mostly based on family tourism. You can find accommodation in private hotels, motels and houses.
In Postira you can enjoy in basketball, tennis and bowling terrains. Postira has beautiful rocky and pebble beaches in many bays around it. Bay Lovrecina with sand beach has a source of spring water.

Postira is a Municipality on north coast of island Brac. Postira is located in Croatian region of Central Dalmatia. It has area of 47 m2.

Postira (island Brac) - History
Postira was first mentioned in 1347. The walls of a church and a baptistery from the Paleochrutian period have been discovered below the parish church of St. John the Baptist. The paintings of Venetian school artists can be seen inside the church. In the harbor of Postira there can be seen many stone buildings belonging to the rich landowners of Brac, of which one stands out- the Renaissance palace Lazanic in which the poet Vladimir Nazor was born.
