There are few sand beaches on south-east side. North-west side is mostly steep. Sea around island Susac is very clean and clear.
Island Susac has no settlements, just area with lighthouse.
If you want to spend nice quiet day on beach you can visit island Susac. You can come to island Susac within 2 hours from island Lastovo.
You can not stay in any accommodation on island Susac. You can only visit it with group or private boat excursions from island Hvar, island Korcula or island Vis. In Split you can use private boat transfers and rent a boat services to get to island Susac.
On highest areas of island Susac grows Hard-Mediterranean maquis. On southern areas are mostly deciduous shrubs of subtropical type.
On north coast lake was formed by nature. You can come to it by diving through 15 m deep cave.

Lighthouse at cape Kanula was built in 1879. by emperor Francis Joseph. Building of lighthouse has two apartments, each with four beds. Near lighthouse is small berth.
Peak Veli Grak is 243 m high and it is located at north-east side of island.
Church with statue of St. Blaise is located south-east of ruins of church of St. Nicholas.
Island Lastovo is located 23 nm east of island Susac. Lastovo has many settlements with churches, beaches and historical monuments.
Island Hvar is beautiful island of Central Dalmatia with most beautiful beaches, rich Mediterranean vegetation, many night clubs and restaurants. In town Hvar you can go sightseeing of fort, main town square and cathedral. In town Hvar you can use car rentals and private car transfers to reach ferry port in Stari Grad. From town Hvar you can also go on group or private car excursions to other settlements on this gorgeous island.

Illyrians lived on island Susac in Prehistory. Old Antique name for island Susac was Choasa.
During Middle Ages Benedictines built church and monastery on island Susac. Monastery and church were dedicated to St. Nicholas. During Middle ages island Susac was called Cazza.
Fishermen from islands Lastovo, Korcula and Vis used two small villages on island Susac during 15th century for fish salting.
In 1953. island Susac had 24 inhabitants which is the largest number of inhabitants every. Since 2001. island Susac is not inhabited.
