HE Kraljevec was built in 1912. and brought electricity to Zadvarje before even Split had it.
Fort Duare was first time mentioned in 1408. Fort has two round towers. Inside the fort were houses for soldiers, church, weapons warehouse and water tank. Fort has been renovated since 2004.
Church of St. Anthony was built in 1705. In 1739. it was dedicated by Split's bishop. In 1774. it was dedicated again to St. Anthony. Church has three altars.

Zadvarje - History
During 17th century Zadvarje was called Duare and many Turkish-Venetian battles were led here. Duare means doors or passage.
Settlement Zadvarje was first time mentioned in 1408. It was owned by Bosnian king.
In 15th century fort was built because of Turkish attacks. Fort was finished before 1482.
Zadvarje was freed from Turks in 1646. but got under their rule again later. Venetians and Turks led many battles in 17th century. Fort was finally free in 1684.
Municipality Zadvarje used to be connected with Municipality Sestanovac but was divided in 1997.
In field Vrban inhabitants of Zadvarje used to grow vine, potato and mangold.
