The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Cross was built in 1616 on the place of an old Roman villae rusticae. It got its neo-Romanesque appearance during the renovation in the 18th century. The church was built in 1766 and the bell-tower was constructed in 1733. The Monastery was damaged during the occupation of Napoleon but was renovated by the beginning of the 20th century. In the Monastery there is a library that keeps valuable documents and books.

Zivogosce - History
Zivogosce has been inhabited since the ancient Illyrian and Roman times which is proved by the numerous archaeological findings of Illyrian tombs atop the hill Suzine and the ruins of the Roman villae rusticae in Mala Duba and Blato. The Croatian people started inhabiting this region in the 7th century.
